Wooden wick candles provide a cozy ambiance with their raw illumination like a wood fire like cracking. Here are the tips and tricks to get the most out of your candles:
-
- The best way to light a wooden wick candle is to tilt it on an angle and let the flame draw across the length of the wick. It may also take several tries to get it lit because we use natural soy and no additives.
- Always trim your wick before each use by removing all charred wood from previous burns. If you do not, the wick may not stay lit long enough to fuel the flame, causing it to extinguish itself.
- Once candle is lit, it is especially important to let your candle burn across the entire diameter of the candle vessel. This is called the “memory” burn, and usually takes about 2-3 hours. Doing a proper memory burn ensures you will get the longest life and cleanest burn out of your candle. This will also prevent tunnelling, which can impact the life of the candle.
- Never leave a candle unattended or near anything flammable. Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
- In general, it is recommended that you do not burn candles for longer than four hours and let it cool for at least two hours before relighting.
